Amorphous metals offer a unique combination of properties not found in conventional materials. They exhibit high strength combined with excellent elasticity, which is twice that of steel. Additionally, they feature high surface finish, high hardness comparable to ceramics, isotropic properties, and low electrical conductivity. Due to these properties, amorphous metals are well-suited for highly stressed components such as hinges or gear parts. Amorphous metals also demonstrate high magnetic permeability, almost temperature-independent electrical resistance, and are easy to magnetize and demagnetize. These characteristics make them optimal for applications in electric motors and EMI shielding.
